Hypocrites The Young Turks Banned Me

This entry answers those asking me why I no longer participate in The Young Turks’ YouTube live stream chat. The short answer is that I have been banned from it since May 15, 2015. This is the second time TYT has banned me for doing exactly what they claim to encourage and allow on their network, as this video makes clear, – civil dissent. My first removal came on November 5, 2012 from their original live stream channel, TYTlive. Then moderator and community ambassador Kimani Wallace David essentially admitted that I was expunged for challenging TYT’s liberal, progressive and atheist dogma, claims and agenda. Although I received no explanation this time, the sequence of events makes it obvious that this same motive applies. These bans thus far only apply to their live stream chats, not their uploaded videos.

During my participation in 2012, I posted my objection to TYT’s conspiracy theory that asserts the GOP aims to suppress voters, especially minorities, by enacting voter identification laws. Kimani promptly blocked me for, in his words, “suggesting that there is no such thing as voter suppression,” and added “YouTube chat is not a democracy.” So much for that dissent TYT claims to encourage and allow.

The irony is Kimani posted for viewers to let him and TYT know if they are getting facts wrong, which is what I did.

What he obviously meant was for the TYT “army,” that is what TYT call their supporters, to help bolster TYT’s propaganda by linking them some cherry-picked “evidence” and not for people to provide anything that challenges it. All the objective evidence, of course, supports me, for example read these reports 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, which is why I was really barred by him. If TYT are as correct as they claim, then contrary contentions should be easily refuted through evidence they or their representatives can provide that anyone can access and review, and this could be done through a free, open, democratic, civil and intellectual forum where opposing views are welcome and debated. Their chat could be such a place, but instead they have made it a liberal echo chamber. This approach is replicated in other areas of the TYT network by individual users who, taking their queues from the TYT leadership, marginalize, ridicule and block political and ideological outsiders. This is the only way in which these liberals, progressives and atheists can continue to justify their message, beliefs and agenda because they do not stand up to vigorous, emperical scrutiny.

At some point after 2012, the live shows moved to the main TYT channel but the accompanying live chat was left without moderation until early 2015. Though my subsequent banning on May 15 came without explanation, it is obvious that it was executed again for purely ideological and political reasons because it came immediately upon opposing, with civility and scientific veracity, the anti-religious bigotry atheist chatters were, and continue, spouting unfettered. Atheists were claiming religion to be a mental illness. I responded that atheism may be a mental illness, or at least a contributing factor to it, as the evidence shows atheists have higher rates of mental health issues, including depression and suicide. Religion, on the other hand, has been shown to provide the basis for sound mental health. This got me removed while the atheists were free to stay and continue their diatribes. To be fair, a minor degree of refereeing in chat was certainly needed by this point to weed out those spamming and publishing people’s personal information. One alleged case even involved TYT co-host Ana Kasparian’s address and phone number being spammed in chat. This nonsense is unnecessary and should be punished by at least a ban, and some of it perhaps warrants prosecution. However, TYT has taken this opportunity to censor dissent.

 

Atheism and the Tucson, Arizona Shooting

Jared Lee Loughner, suspected shooter at a Tucson, Arizona Safeway store that killed at least 6 people and injured another 14 on January 8, 2011, is an atheist. Does this prove atheism leads to mental illness? Does this prove atheism inspires murder and/or violent acts? Atheists will be no doubt be quick to say, perhaps even scream, that it does not; there are atheists who may even become angry or enraged over the very suggestion or question.

Think back, however, to April of 2009 when self professed Christian Youtub user Anthony Powell murdered Asia McGowan, a girl with whom he was obsessed, before taking his own life on the campus of Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan. Many of you may not remember or even know of this incident as it received minimal coverage in the mainstream media. It was, however, a sensation among atheists on the web. If you are unfamiliar with this tragedy, search for it on Google and/or Youtube. Many atheists to this day exploit this tragedy to rage against religion. These individuals are quick to not only point out Powell’s Christianity but also fallaciously assert that this proves religion if it does not cause mental illness certainly nurtures it by, among other things, encouraging people to stay clear from professional, medical treatment of such illness. These are just some examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Many have also found it appropriate to blame Youtuber VenomFangX for the murder-suicide because Powell was a fan of his. Some have blamed VenomFangX more directly while others take the indirect route, implying a connection.

Many atheists are quick to point the finger at religion, or some particular religion, for allowing and/or encouraging the crimes or violent behavior of a person who happens to hold religious views. These atheists cannot provide any substantive evidence or logical reason for such a conclusion, which, it seems, is merely the product of their irrational anti religion prejudice and hate. Thus, if we are to apply this same logic, perhaps atheism should be blamed for the crimes and violence committed by atheists. In Loughner we have an atheist whose Myspace and Youtube accounts paint a picture of a psychologically disturbed man vehemently and militantly against religion, God and the US government. Upon this hate, Loughner’s motivation and justification for his murder spree was founded. Though their precise philosophical foundations may have differed somewhat, we have seen many atheists just like Loughner in the past. Pekka-Eric Auvinen, Ted Bundy, Jeffery Dahmer, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Cho Seung-Hui, Matti Saari, and Russell Williams, to name a few.

Is it now fair and time to put the blame on atheism for encouraging and fomenting the thoughts and actions that lead atheists to engage in criminal and violent behavior in the same way atheists have blamed religion? After all, the common thread among these atheists is their atheism.

 

Hello, a brief introduction to me

Hello, my name is Christian and, yes, I am a Christian, conservative, many would say old fashioned, gentleman, and very happily married. I am not on here to berate, denigrate, demean anyone or anything. My presence here is an extension of my off line activities through which I strive to proselytize and defend God’s Word and offer a Christian perspective on current events. When able, I also try and help people better themselves and overcome problems and difficulties in their lives. My supreme goal is to better my community, country and world, which I contend can only be fully achieved through the widespread adoption of Christianity. Producing disciples of Christianity is thus one of my major goals. Many of you nonbelievers may claim that this sounds like I want to force my beliefs on people but this is far from the truth. I do not want to force anything on anyone, and neither do most Christians. The hypocrisy of many nonbelievers is they charge us religious people with trying to “force” our beliefs on people, on society yet they are the ones guilty of this very thing. Sam Harris, for example, a major intellectual leader in the anti-religion movement, says religion should not be tolerated as that is dangerous and equates religious belief with mental illness (see his book The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason).
